News Letter – Issue 1

1st Team: The First Team have had an excellent start to the season and currently lie in second in their division. Things started well for the team with a 4-0 away win at Outwell Swifts, with Daniel Bradnam-Alecock and Rick Hamill on target and Craig Harrison netting a brace. Harrison scored in the Gunners next game, a 5-0 home win over Bluntisham, Shane Leech was also on the scoresheet whilst Bradham-Alecock helped himself to a hat-trick.

A Midweek away trip to March Town saw brothers Ashley & Shaun Smith both score for West Row in a 2-1 win. The Gunners fourth game of the season saw their only defeat to date, a 3-0 home reverse against Wisbech St. Mary.

Hoping to bounce straight back from the defeat, the Gunners travelled to Comberton but were held to a 3-3 draw, Gunners goals coming from Harrison, Phil Taylor and Nick Austin. Shaun Smith and Craig Harrison got the Gunners back to winning ways both scoring in a home win over Haddenham Rovers.

Reserves: West Row have not had the best of starts to their Division 4B campaign recording just one win in their first four outings. This said three of the four games have been against newly promoted sides, so the start was never going to be an easy one.

Gunners kicked off the season going down by the odd goal in three at Chatteris Town, Rob Amoss was on target for West Row.

The first home match of the season saw the Gunners collect the points with a 2-0 win over Emneth Spartens, Mark Hacking and Michael Winkworth netting for the hosts. A 1-0 away defeat at Fenstanton followed by a 2-0 home reverse against Gransden Chequers, now leaves the Gunners sitting in the wrong half of the table at this early stage. With a little more luck in front of goal, West Row will surely turn things around in the coming weeks.
